There are four cover levels available - which one is best for you will depend on your preferences, circumstances, and financial situation. Here is a summary of what is covered with each cover level, and who it is best for:
Major Medical: Covers all major medical issues, i.e. those which require inpatient treatment at a hospital or other medical facility. It does not cover the smaller, less expensive treatments which can be done as an outpatient - those would be paid for by you. Therefore, this cover level covers the most important medical situations, at the lowest cost. It is ideal for people who only need to protect themselves against the major potential problems, and have the finances to deal with fixing minor problems themselves.
Standard: Covers everything included with Major Medical, and also provides cover for most outpatient treatments, up to the relatively-high defined limits per item. This cover level is designed to provide wide ranging cover for both inpatient and outpatient claims, at an attractive price, and is ideal for people whoeither cannot, or do not want to, be an a position where they would have to pay for outpatient treatment themselves, whilst still keeping the cost of the insurance relatively low.
Comprehensive: Covers everything included with both Major Medical and Standard, as well as a range of added benefits which are not included with standard medical insurance policies, such as organ transplant cover and some wellbeing and dental benefits. This is ideal for those who want a wide-ranging level of cover which includes some "known" costs, such as annual check-ups, eye tests, and vaccinations.
Fully Comprehensive: Covers everything included with Major Medical, Standard, and Comprehensive, as well as removing most of the upper-limits on item-specific claims, and doubling the maximum claim amount per year to USD 2 million. This is ideal for those who want to have the very highest level of cover, with very few restrictions or limits for pretty much anything. This is the most extensive (and expensive) level of cover available.
